About This Website

Welcome to my website, a collection of my own family and amateur photography. It represents a combination of two of my interests: photography and programming. I have created it really just for the fun of creating it. I realize that very few people will spend much time looking at it. For me, it is more about the fun of creating it than the end goal. For the most part, it will probably be just family (especially grandparents of my kids) and perhaps a few friends who visit, but that is okay by me. Well, it might help if I didn’t disallow Google and other search engines from finding my site, but with so many pictures of the kids, I think it is probably better to keep it “off the radar.” And really, no one else but people of my own acquaintance would care.

Since this website is just a hobby, I always have more to do than I have time to do. I never seem to catch up to putting all my latest photos online, and probably I never will. I give such care to postprocessing that it usually takes me hours of work from the time the new pictures have been uploaded to my computer until they are ready in my estimation to be added to the website. There are even many of the photos that are already on this website that I want to revisit, but I wonder whether I ever will.

When I first launched my website, I was first learning how to code webpages. I used a photo hosting service called SmugMug to handle most of the programming, although it allowed me to have my own custom HTML (content) and CSS (styling), but they provided the framework that I did not know how to do at the time. Now my website is completely my own programming. I love being able to make it however I wish rather than trying to adapt my vision of the site to fit some model or template. Of course, it is inevitable that you will encounter the occasional bug or oddity (I’m an odd character, after all). If you do, I welcome you to tell me about it.

Finally, I very much recommend you view my website from the latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. I make use of technologies that are only available in the newest browsers. All these browsers are free, and as web standards march on, it’s always a good idea to keep them current.

Thanks for visiting!
