March 10, 2014, 8:44 PM Day 7 I sanded the floor and then applied the first coat of a stain/finish. But I didn't do a very good job. I started kind of in the middle and went toward one edge, then started from the middle on the other, and that is why it is darker and ugly in the middle. I knew better, but I don't do this often enough to remember. The bristle brush also left streaks in this water-based finish (I think I like oil better, but this is easier for this project). It might look better after a second coat, but I think I'm just going to sand it down and try again.
